Each year we update our rolling three-year rolling strategic plan and this year we are asking for community feedback.
The board will hold a special meeting on April 26, at 5:00 pm in the hospital’s basement conference room. We encourage you to review the draft and share your comments at the meeting or, if you are unable to attend, feel free to respond by email to me.
This plan, as with those that preceded it, was developed by a committee of board members, physicians and hospital leaders who bring diverse perspectives to the discussion. It’s a valuable tool for administration, one that helps us stay focused on strategic priorities which continue to evolve each year.
The strategic plan looks at the broad trends occurring in healthcare today and assesses our competitive position and the many factors influencing our situation, from demographic changes to inpatient and outpatient trends. We identify five strategies for the hospital and the tactics we will use to achieve them. The plan also discusses the role we expect our relationship with UCSF Health to play in the coming years.
This year we also updated our vision statement, which now reads: A trusted resource for compassionate, exceptional care. We believe this best captures our vision of what we aspire to be as a community hospital.
You can find a draft of the 2019 Strategic Plan here. I encourage you to take a few minutes to read through it to see where we are going, understand the challenges we face, and share your thoughts about how best to get there.
In good health,
Kelly
