Scott V. Perryman, MD and Crystine Lee, MD, MBA, FACS, have announced that they have opened a new practice in Sonoma dedicated to bariatric (weight loss) surgery. Both are board-certified surgeons who were formerly associated with Prima Medical Foundation and have provided bariatric, general surgery and endoscopy in the North Bay for many years through Sonoma Valley Hospital.
Their practice, Whole Health Weight Loss Institute (WHWLI), combines the use of advanced state-of-the-art surgical, endoscopic and medical weight loss treatments with the practice of mindfulness. WHWLI is based in Sonoma Valley with offices in Marin and Napa Counties. Surgeries are performed in Sonoma Valley Hospital’s state-of-the-art Surgery Center.
Bariatric procedures performed by Dr. Perryman and Dr. Lee include the roux-en-y gastric bypass, the vertical sleeve gastrectomy and the adjustable gastric band. WHWLI also offers the Orbera balloon system for non-surgical weight loss.
“Our program is more than a weight-loss solution,” said Dr. Perryman. “Our goal is to improve or resolve serious obesity-related conditions which impact overall health and provide a continuum of care and support that is there for the patient’s entire journey, before and after surgery.” He noted that common conditions and issues related to obesity that can be improved with bariatric surgery include Type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, depression, high blood pressure, and even mobility.
WHWLI is staffed with a dedicated Nurse Navigator and Support Group Facilitator. A nutritionist and psychologist are also part of the program.
WHWLI is located at 651 Frist Street West, Suite L in Sonoma. More information is available at their website: whweightloss.com. Information sessions discussing weight loss options are held on the second Wednesday of each month at Sonoma Valley Hospital beginning at 5:30 pm.
