Sonoma Valley Hospital has named Benjamin J. Armfield as its new Chief Financial Officer. He replaces Ken Jensen, who recently retired.
Armfield brings considerable experience in financial and operational roles with community hospitals and medical centers in California. Most recently, he served as Chief Financial Officer for Community Health Partners, a new medical foundation in Fresno, California, affiliated with Community Health System. He was instrumental in building the financial systems and medical services for the foundation as well as the recruitment of physicians into the organization.
Prior to that, he held several positions with Community Health System, a private, not-for-profit healthcare system based in Fresno, California, which includes Community Regional Medical Center, Clovis Community Medical Center, and Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital. Community Health System is affiliated with UCSF Health.
His roles included Assistant Chief Financial Officer for all Community Health System hospitals; VP of Orthopedics for Community Health System hospitals; VP of Operations for Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital; Chief Financial Officer for Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital; and Assistant Chief Financial Officer for Community Regional Medical Center, among others.

Armfield holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from North Park University in Chicago, and an MBA from California State University of Fresno.
