Sonoma Valley Hospital Pharmacist, Baqara “Maya” Yoder, will lead a virtual talk discussing new and emerging medication therapies for preventing and managing chronic joint and arthritic conditions. This talk is open to the community and is co-hosted with Vintage House.
The virtual talk, titled “What’s new in the treatment of osteoarthritis?” will be held online via Zoom on Thursday, June 24, from 9:00 am – 10:00 am. Yoder will review supplements that promise to provide joint comfort, like glucosamine and chondroitin, and discuss when these agents are helpful. She also will answer audience questions during the Q&A session following the talk.

Personal Medication Review Sessions Available
Sonoma Valley Hospital also invites community members to have their medications reviewed for safety in the privacy of their home through a personal online visit by Yoder who can help ensure that there are no potential problems related to drug interactions, dosing, compliance, expiration, and side effects. The service is offered by the hospital without cost, but appointments are required.
Sonoma Valley residents can make an online appointment with Yoder for Thursday, June 24, following her talk. Appointments will be scheduled from 10:30 am through 3:30 pm; each is 30 minutes long and will be filled on a first-come basis.
